How we verify

Where each fact comes from, what each evidence label permits us to say, and what we will not claim.

The short version

Print records come from the publisher's own catalog and are keyed by ISBN, never matched by title. Every figure wears a label saying how it was obtained. Korean serialization status is cited only from the platform's own listing. Where a source has no figure, the field stays empty.

01

What we check

The catalog currently tracks 43 series lines and 270 volumes keyed by ISBN-13. For each volume we record the publisher's release date, US list price, page count and trim size — but only when read from the publisher's product page for that exact volume. Publishers list digital, audio and regional ISBNs beside the print one, and reuse titles across unrelated editions, so the ISBN is the only key we trust; the title is a label.

“Volumes out” is computed from those release dates against a stated data date, not from the calendar at build time. A volume with no date is counted as out only when a later, dated volume has already been released. Preorders are shown as preorders.

The Korean original's status — whether the webtoon or web novel is complete, and at how many episodes — is a separate record. Korean platforms list the same work several ways (the serialized run, the collected volumes, a revised edition), so each status names the listing it refers to. A status appears on a series page only once it carries a link to the platform's own listing; episode counts repeated by third parties are kept as leads, not published.

02

Evidence labels

A product page, a series listing and a memory are not interchangeable. Every record carries one of these labels, and the volume tables show them:

VerifiedRead from the publisher's own product page or product feed for that exact item (ISBN, release date, price, page count, trim).
CollectedTaken from a listing rather than the item's own page: a publisher series listing or sitemap, a shop's product feed, or a library record. Good enough to count and link; re-checked item by item before it is cited as fact.
Not foundWe searched the publisher catalogs and found no record. The field stays empty rather than being filled from memory.
Unverified leadPrior knowledge that has not been checked against any source. Never rendered as fact on a live page.

03

What we will and won't claim

Series pages answer objective buying questions: which ISBN is the print edition, what the publisher lists it at, which volumes are out, and whether the original is finished. They say nothing about paper stock, binding, color reproduction or translation quality unless a report from readers is quoted with attribution — we do not hold physical copies and never pretend to.

Story and structure notes, when present, are written from the digital originals and publisher previews, and say so. Recommendations are never influenced by affiliate commissions; how the links work is in the affiliate disclosure.

04

Corrections

Publishers reschedule, reprint and relist. When a record is wrong or stale we fix it and bump the data date. Spotted an error? Write to the address on the About page.
